Julie Ann Weiler is a San Diego-based singer-songwriter who has a message of hope that the calling of our dreams will never die. She believes that though life circumstances or our personal choices may cause our dreams to get buried or hidden, we can revisit them when the timing is right. Her dream is to write songs that will touch hearts and have a positive impact in some way.

Born into a traveling musical missionary family, Julie Ann grew up sharing a motorhome or van with her parents and four siblings. Her father was a songwriter, and she witnessed him randomly waking up in the middle of the night to mumble words and melody into his mini Casio Recorder, which he would later turn into a song. She knew right away that she wanted to follow in his footsteps and began writing songs at the age of 10.

Despite leaving home at 18 and pursuing other paths, Julie Ann never forgot her dream of writing songs that would touch people’s hearts. She pursued a career in the music industry, winning talent competitions, getting songs placed on popular TV shows, and recording an EP in Nashville. As the 2008 recession hit, however, she was faced with the decision to either give her all to her budding music career or to her growing family. She chose the latter and continued to write songs, sing her kids to sleep, and perform whenever and wherever possible, all while building a family business in the special events industry.

It wasn’t until her own daughters began to successfully pursue their own artistry in the form of musical theater that Julie Ann felt an awakening deep within her heart. She recommitted herself to sharing her songs and her story with others. Despite the stigma that in order to be relevant in the music industry, one needs to be under 21 and unattached, Julie Ann did not let that hold her back. She recorded two singles remotely due to the pandemic before joining her friend in Texas to record 12 original songs in 2022.

Julie Ann’s hope is to write and produce songs that will connect with the listener on a personal level and encourage others to pursue their dreams. She believes that remembering your dreams, however deeply they are buried, and letting yourself feel worthy of pursuing them can encourage more self-love. Combined with faith and hard work, pursuing your dreams can lend to those dreams coming true, not always in the way you’d expect, but always in an amazing way that will brighten your life and make you say yes to the next opportunity.

On The Right Track, a new musical directed by Mauricio Cedeño, promises to warm hearts, entertain, and bring the audience on a journey through the complexities of human relationships. In a recent interview, Cedeño shared his thoughts on the play, his experience working with the AMT Theatre in New York, and the differences between the Mexican and New York theater scenes.

On The Right Track tells the story of three separate couples traveling on board a magical train, each at a turning point in their lives. The Conductor is the narrator and mystical figure in their lives who steers them in different directions but allows them to choose how events will unfold. Ultimately, none of them will be the same as when they began the journey.

When asked about the play’s central theme, Cedeño said, “the play talks about a lot of things, but I could shorten it to ‘the love in human relationships,’ but it’s magical, funny, and touching.” The show promises to be an immersive experience for the audience, with relatable characters and fantastic music.

Cedeño describes the mystical Conductor, a central character in the show, as representing hope and the possibility of reminding us of the importance of our decisions. Despite being a “magical” being, the Conductor shows a very human side, making him relatable to the audience.

Cedeño has worked with the AMT Theatre, producing and directing three of Al Tapper’s and Tony Sportiello’s shows in Guadalajara, Mexico. This will be their fifth project together. Cedeño expressed his excitement about the opportunity to work with New York artists and performers. He also praised the creativity and universality of art, which transcends language barriers.

The relationship between AMT Theater and Mexico began when he discovered Sessions, a musical by Al Tapper, about group therapy, during a visit to New York. This success led to further collaborations, including the musicals National Pastime and The Paparazzi, which also received positive reviews and awards.

Tone Eyeful Brings a Unique Blend of Lyrical Wordplay and Melodic R&B to the Table

Tone Eyeful is a name that hip-hop enthusiasts should remember. This talented artist from New Haven is blowing up the hip-hop scene with his catchy blend of smooth R&B, killer beats, and clever rhymes. Tone’s not your average rapper, though – he’s always pushing boundaries and showing off his versatility as a songwriter and performer. So it’s no wonder he’s got a massive fanbase that loves his fresh and diverse sound.

In 2020, Tone released his EP Colors, a conscious, spirited album that touched on the times. The album was well-received by both fans and critics, which motivated him to release two more projects in 2022 – Black Roses, a bar-for-bar rap album featuring battle rap artist Jus Cuz, and Long Way From The Eastside, a melodic hip hop/R&B album featuring R&B sensation Norman Perry. And that’s not all – Tone has more projects in the works for 2023.

When asked about his motivation to pursue music, Tone shared, “I was motivated to build my brand because while I was using music, writing my feelings and thoughts on records as an outlet, other people were relating to what I had to say. That motivated me further to start taking this seriously. Music got me through some of the hardest times of my life and was also the soundtrack to some of the best. If I can reach out to people in a way that they can digest and relate to through my gift, then that’s a whole other gift within itself.”

From a tender age, Tone’s existence has been steeped in music. He would listen, record, and compose music, with a knack for writing that excelled in his schooling. His father would often take him to the mixtape spots around Connecticut and Queens, NY, where he was exposed to the musical genius of DJ Clue, DJ Big Mike, Craig G, WhooKid, Kay Slay, Kid Capri, and other greats. Ironically, his first words were the catchy hook ‘Hey Ho’ from Naughty By Nature’s classic hit record ‘Hip Hop Hooray.’ Even during his high school and college years, Tone was already recording and releasing songs, music videos, and projects, and was fortunate enough to open for renowned artists such as Nas, French Montana, N.O.R.E., Meek Mill, Ty Dolla, and tour with Currensy and Chris Webby.

Tone’s music has a broad appeal, attracting a diverse range of listeners. He caters to both hip-hop aficionados of all ages and women who appreciate his R&B and soulful tunes that explore themes of love and relationships. Tone draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of musical greats, including Nas, Notorious BIG, 50 Cent, NWA, as well as contemporary stars such as Drake, Benny the Butcher, Westside Boogie, and Russ.

In addition to his thriving music career, Tone is also involved in the health industry, running a successful Seamoss business that helps people achieve their wellness objectives. He’s also collaborating with a group of designers to launch a new brand on the side. However, his ultimate ambition is to become an A&R professional, scouting fresh musical talent and assisting artists in telling their stories through their art.
