In Reading, Pennsylvania, Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, the only daughter of Andrea Gardner and Scott Kingsley Swift.

Her father worked as a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch, and her mother had worked as a mutual fund marketing manager before becoming a full-time housewife. Her younger brother Austin Kingsley Swift is also an actor. Swift identifies as a Christian. Growing up in a Presbyterian family and a child rode her family’s Quarter Horses and a Shetland pony. 

She attended Kindergarten and Kindergarten at the Alvernia Montessori School, run by the Bernadine Franciscan Sisters, before attending Wyndcroft School.

She attended high school at Wyomissing Area Junior / Senior High School in Pennsylvania.

Taylor became interested and fell in love with music at the age of nine.

She revealed that the fascination grew with the music of Shania Twain. She dreamt of making her hits someday, and now, she is making it at the head of the game. According to Taylor, his music made her “want to run around the block four times and daydream about everything.”

She loved singing in her youth and sang karaoke locally by the age of 10. When she was eleven, she sang the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers game. She began learning to play the guitar around the same time.

Career

A development agreement with RCA Records enabled Swift to meet with veterans of the recording industry, and in 2004, at age 14, she signed with Sony / ATV as a songwriter.

She then became the youngest artist to be signed by the publishing house Sony / ATV Music, and at the age of 15, she signed her first record contract.

Her self-titled debut album of 2006 was the longest album of the 2000s in the United States. The third single, “Our Song,” made her the youngest person write a number one song single-handedly and hit the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart alone.

Taylor Swift was certified platinum in 2007 after selling more than a million copies in the United States. 

Swift pursued a rigorous touring schedule, opening to Tim McGraw, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, and Faith Hill.

In the year 2008, Swift proved to the world that she could go mainstream and hang up her dress and country boots. Selling more than half a million copies in its first week, Fearless, her second album, opened at number one on the Billboard 200 charts.

Singles such as “You Belong with Me” and “Love Story” have been a worldwide hit. It became the best-selling album in the United States in 2009 and was certified as a diamond in the United States. The album earned Swift four Grammy Awards, including the highest accolade, Album of the Year.

During her infamous VMA acceptance speech in 2009, rapper Kanye West brutally interrupted her by claiming the award should have gone to Beyoncé. This disruption has fueled their feud ever since.

Later in the program, as Beyoncé accepted the Video of the Year award, she invited Swift on stage to wrap up her speech, a move that drew standing ovations from both artists.

She released her third studio album, Speak Now, in 2010, Red in 2012. Her renowned fifth album 1989 in 2014 has opened doors for her to transition to pop from country. Until now, 1989 is the most awarded pop album of all time, and it earned her second “Album of the Year” award last 2016.

After that, the drama went on. Swift faced a lot of controversies and went on hiatus for months. She released her sixth album Reputation in 2017, and it was her last album under her 12-year deal with Big Machine Records.

In 2019 she released her seventh album Lover, which she described as “a love letter to love itself.”

In 2020, she released her critically acclaimed and surprising alternative album “Folklore”, proving her versatility as a musician.

In her career, Swift has won 10 Grammy Awards, one Emmy Award, six Guinness World Records, and is the most-awarded musician and woman at the American Music Awards (29 wins) and Billboard Music Awards (23 wins).

Personal Life

She has had several high-profile relationships, including dating with celebrities such as Joe Jonas in 2008, Taylor Lautner, and John Mayer in 2009, Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010, Conor Kennedy, and Harry Styles in 2012, and Calvin Harris from 2015 to 2016.

She also dated actor Tom Hiddleston for three months in 2016. She started a relationship with Joe Alwyn in 2016 until now.

According to 2019 estimates, Taylor Swift is worth $ 360 million. She has amassed her wealth through her record music, touring, and acting.
