The holidays are a time of hope and celebration for families across the country. In light of the success Kathy Ireland has accomplished with her company this year, she wanted to give American families a gift that would make the holidays feel more special. Ireland and her company, kathy ireland Worldwide, brings warmth to the holidays with the film The Waltons’ Homecoming.
Kathy Ireland wanted to encourage hope this holiday season. She said, “There is so much programming today that fails to bring a message of hope. After a challenging year, The Waltons’ Homecoming is our gift to America.” The film will air on The CW on November 28, with an encore airing on December 11. It features a cast of Hollywood heavy-hitters like Bellamy Young, Ben Lawson, andLogan Shroyer. Richard Thomas, the original John Boy, also returns to narrate the film.
Of course, no holiday film will be complete without heartwarming music. For the music of this film, Kathy Ireland worked with seven-time Grammy Award-winning artists Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo. Their rendition of “Silent Night” has been praised by the TV Guide as beautiful and soulful. Watertower Music will release it on Monday, November 29.
To bring this film to life, Kathy Ireland chose to collaborate with Emmy Award-winning producer Sam Haskell. “There is no one more talented and more appropriate to help give this message of hope to families,” Ireland said, “Sam has such an illustrious career, and his accomplishments in television are legendary and iconic. I knew that with him, this project was in safe and capable hands.”
The CEO of kathy ireland Worldwide has experienced unparalleled success this year. Kathy Ireland received the Icon Award from the International Home Furnishings Association. She also received the Business International Religious Freedom Champion Award from the IRF. This CEO is also the youngest woman ever elected into the Hall of Fame by Licensing International. This honor is given to recognize kathy ireland Worldwide’s feat as the highest-ranked woman-owned licensing company in the United States.
In light of her success this year, Kathy Ireland wished to give back. While she has already done this for the general public with the holiday film, she wanted to do more for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. For this endeavor, she teamed up with NPCF CEO David Frazer and artists Billy Davis jr. and Marilyn McCoo. Together, they collaborated on a commercial campaign to call for holiday donations to the NPCF. The commercial features Davis and McCoo’s vocal performance of the song “Do It,” produced by their longtime producer Nic Mendoza.
It comes as no surprise that Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo have worked with Kathy Ireland on these recent projects. They have worked together before, and their latest album, Blackbird: Lennon-McCartney Icons, was created in partnership with Ireland. They said, “Kathy has an extraordinarily beautiful heart. And working with her to create something beautiful for families to enjoy for the holidays was an easy decision for us to make.”
Kathy Ireland is at the helm of a highly successful company. Her passion for business is on a level with her passion for children in need. She hopes that The Waltons’ homecoming will give families another reason to be thankful this holiday season.
