There is a new cinematic universe, and it is not Marvel.
Lil Nas X has announced the release of his debut album entitled Montero, and Marvel fans are raving as the album’s trailer is heavily inspired by Marvel Studio’s well-loved opening sequence.
As Marvel’s opening theme displays a hodgepodge of the enterprise’s endeared superheroes, Montero’s trailer features some of the most iconic moments of the artist’s career, from sequences of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” to his groundbreaking 2021 singles. It ends with a Montero title, imitating Marvel’s most famous opening scene.
Without a doubt, this multifaceted artist is bound to take the industry by storm this year.
Over the years, this 22-year-old artist has continued to defy odds and made waves across the music industry with grace and finesse. Aside from dominating the music scene with his “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” music video, which features the artist giving a lap dance to the devil, Lil Nas X has transcended limitations, exceeded expectations, and pushed boundaries by putting on an Egyptian-themed performance of the hit song at the 2021 BET Awards, ending with a steamy kiss with one of the male dancers. While many people remain adamant in accepting this talented personality’s stage act, Lil Nas has taken to Twitter to express his thoughts about his performance.
“We are four months in, and people are still acting surprised that I am gay and sexual in performances of a song about gay and sexual shit,” the artist shared.
However, he also admitted having been nervous about performing the song in front of his “straight peers” at the awards show.
“It took me a lot of time to mentally prepare for this performance,” Lil Nas X wrote. “While on stage, I was trembling, knowing that I was performing something like that in front of my straight peers. Even during the performance, I was having a hard time calming my nerves. Thank you guys for the love.”
Lil Nas received massive support from the audience, but no one else did it like Diddy, who publicly acknowledged the musician’s exceptional bravery in performing the act. “Lil Nas X did that! Be fearless!” Diddy tweeted.
Along with Lil Nas X’s revelation tweet, the artist revealed, “Montero the debut album coming soon.”
Montero will include two of the artist’s successful singles, such as “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Sun Goes Down.”
Although the release of the debut album has already garnered much traction on social media, Lil Nas X has revealed in an interview at the iHeart Radio Music Awards last May that the music video shall be as intense and exciting as the album, much like this talented personality’s disposition as an exceptional visionary and passion-driven artist of the trade.
“I want to do something in a different lane that’s crazier,” Lil Nas X said as he described details of his next music video. “I’m not sure what yet…But that’s for when I make a main single or something.”
