Elias Grau on Helping Brands Tell Their Stories and Connect with Today’s Market

Connecting with one’s target market is a primary goal for individuals and ventures hoping to survive in today’s competitive spaces. However, given the competition and the overwhelming number of aspirants that are also trying to capture the attention and earn the patronage of their intended clients and customers, this has proven challenging, especially for new entrants. Elias Grau, a highly trusted designer and creative director, knows all too well that connection follows recognition. Armed with this awareness, he has made it his goal to help companies get people excited to be part of their mission.

An award-winning creative widely respected for his distinctive approach to designing brand identities, Elias is currently in the limelight for his standout work in the industry. With an impressive portfolio attached to his name, he is predicted to rise through the ranks in the years to come and occupy a position at the forefront, an expectation that makes sense in light of his achievements so far.

Among Elias’s numerous accomplishments is his brilliant work as the lead designer and creative director of Singbird, a New York City startup developing social networks and music software and whose core product is a mobile application that allows people to stream music together. Apart from designing Singbird’s entire branding system and user interface, he was responsible for directing its campaigns and videography. By the end of the project, the German go-getter was able to demonstrate a knack for knowing how exactly to shine a spotlight over a brand.

The reputation Elias has managed to build over time, and the heights he has reached is thanks not only to his undeniable talent. Deserving of credit, as well, is his take on branding. “Customers use branding as a way to decipher whether or not a company is trustworthy, interesting, and worth supporting,” he shared. “So I focus on designing timeless elements that speak to a brand’s mission, vision, and value statements. This means developing strong visuals that speak to a company’s target audience and creating long-term recognition.”

Currently, Elias serves as a partner and creative director at tipsyControl Technology, which is a company that designs and develops technologies for several renowned ventures in Germany. Additionally, he shares his expertise with others by consulting companies around the world as an independent designer. He is also quick to guide fellow creatives in navigating the waters of the industry.

When asked about a major takeaway from his journey so far, he said, “Design is a tool that uses visuals to communicate messages that create trust between brands and customers. Don’t be afraid to design something bad. Make sure you’re designing something you like. Designing brand identities means focusing on communicating the brand’s voice.”

Setting his eyes on cementing his standing in the industry even more solidly, Elias is not planning to slow down anytime soon. In the future, he hopes to hop on board different culturally meaningful projects, establish his voice, and continue using his passion and talent in design to propel companies forward.
