Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
Zac Efron came back to his High School Musical roots, uploading an intriguing picture of himself outside the film series’ East High set on Friday.
“Don’t you… Forget about me ✊🏼,” the actor who plays Troy said in the photo’s caption, citing another classic, The Breakfast Club of 1985, with the quote and pose.
Thrilled HSM fans were quick to flood the comment section. Even Bart Johnson, who portrayed Efron’s on screen dad, jumped into the fun, saying, “Warms coaches ole heart to see this. Welcome home, son. WHAT TEAM!?”
It looks like something is brewing as a month ago, fellow High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens uploaded almost the same post, but hers is a video. In the clip, she walked into the high school, turned around to the camera, and gave a peace sign.
Hudgens wrote in the caption: “Do you remember in kindergarten how you’d meet a kid and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you’re playing like you’re best friends because you didn’t have to be anything but yourself?”

Could There be a High School Musical Mini-Reunion?
Efron and Hudgens portrayed the characters of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, the lead couple, in the three HSM installments. These films were released between 2006 and 2008 and quickly created a huge fan base for the pair – now household names of teen classics.
A Disney+ show based on HSM, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, is preparing for a season 3 premiere this coming July 27.
Efron and Hudgens have not made a cameo on the series yet, but these hints (we wish) have fans hoping for an appearance in the show.
When asked for a comment, a representative for Efron did not instantly reply.
High School Musical follows a basketball team captain who is Bolton, and an academically inclined transferee, Gabriella, as they try out for parts in their school musical, prompting splits among the school’s pack.
The film series features Efron, Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman.
