Countless fashion editors, celebrities and influencers are down to brave the gloomy weather in Paris as long as there is a fashion show, especially the latest menswear collections.
They have had enough of several seasons of digital shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Numerous creators have decided to push the boundaries of physical presentations, including an acrobatic performance in Issey Miyake’s Homme Plissé and a recreation of the designer’s home and garden at Dior Men.
Rick Owens returned to his usual home in the Palais de Tokyo with a catwalk presentation in which three giant spheres were set ablaze, lifted into the air and then theatrically dropped into the building’s fountain as the models walked.
Designer Colm Dillane hosted a live auction of paintings based on his collection during the KidSuper show, raising over $ 500,000 for foundations that support young artists.
“I wanted people to interact… and make it an experience. I had always wanted to do an art show as a fashion show, and people could participate in the auction,” Dillane said in an interview with CNN Style.
Paris hosted the return of numerous brands this season. The Spring-Summer 2023 shows in the city concluded with the highly awaited comeback of Celine by Hedi Slimane, an extravaganza both on the runway and outside where the audience was committed to sneak a peek of well-known attendees.
Korean personalities such as Blackpink’s Lisa, BTS’s Kim Tae-Hyung, and actor Park Bo-gum were present, sitting in the front row with Eddie Redmayne, Jessica Biel, Justin Timberlake, and David Beckham.
K-Pop sensations created huge chaos that LVHM’s Bernard Arnault was allegedly amazed.
Also back in town are Celine, Comme des Garcons Homme Plus, which had held socially-distanced shows at its Tokyo locations during COVID, as well as Junya Watanabe Man, Thom Browne, Rhude, and Mowalola.
A few debuts also commenced during the week. Givenchy held its first standalone men’s show, featuring wardrobe staples such as gilets, hoodies, and cargo pants with couture-like artistry.
Meanwhile, LA’s Amiri took California cool to the Jardin des Plantes.
