Inky Proving to be a Diamond from the Rough as an Independent Artist

Independent artists have somewhat become mainstays in the music industry. Many artists have realized they can push their music careers all by themselves, especially with the deluge of marketing and promotional platforms at everyone’s disposal. Of course, it doesn’t take away the essence of record companies, but many artists have proven that being an independent artist is possible. Caribbean rapper Inky embraces these thoughts tightly and is working hard to implement them and make them work out for him. His vocals on songs set him apart, and publications have described him as having “The voice of the gods of Mount Olympus Zeus.”

Born Sharn Forrest, Inky has some singles and collaborations to his name, and his sound has become synonymous with the newest star to come out of Sint Maarten. With songs like “Island Slang,” “Proud of That,” and “Hold a 100,” Inky is laser-focused on stamping his sound in the minds of many and growing as an artist that everyone can enjoy. He has amassed more than 100,000 streams to his credit, and his authentic lyrics have made him a viable choice of artists to look out for and listen to.

Motivated by his poor background, Inky has worked for everything he ever had all his life. He’s never had handouts, and he got everything by hard work, sheer determination, and struggle. It explains why he’s overly strategic and calculative with his music moves because success is non-negotiable for him. “I’m working hard on taking things to another level in 2021 because I believe it’s my breakthrough year. I’m chasing it all unapologetically without remorse, and I’m going to prove myself to the world,” he affirmed..

The entire Inky brand is built on authenticity and how the music makes people feel. His Caribbean roots play a big role in his sound, and his representation of his culture has drawn him to the hearts of many of his fans. “I aim to make my music a stress reliever for anyone who listens to it. Once you plug in your earphones, I want to take you into another world where my lyrics take charge of your wandering mind,” inky said.

Inky targets young people from poor backgrounds struggling to get out. His music gives hope and inspiration to everyone going through one struggle or the other. “I want to push them to never give up on their dreams and have a strong belief that they’ll make it out of the trenches soon,” he said.

Inky’s goal is to make significant impacts with his music, change his life, and put his family in a better position to live well. Seeing how artists like Jay-Z and Kanye West rise from nothing to empire owners and billionaires motivates Inky to stay on course as he builds an empire of his own. He’s also passionate about imparting knowledge and guiding young artists on the kind of mistakes they should not make with their careers. Inky is on a long journey to build an empire, and it’s worth watching.
