Without a label, without shortcuts, and certainly not waiting for approval, King Titus is forging his own melodic path. The Los Angeles-based musician continues to grow with “Drip“, a bold, catchy new song with an engaging video that embodies an emerging artist’s summertime vibes and energy.
A native of Pasadena, California, King Titus would always dance and compete in talent shows at school. At age 11, he wrote and produced his first single, which eventually went viral, hitting 7 million views on YouTube.
He is the son of musician, record producer, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur Dwayne Omarr. Along with developing his skills, King Titus has learned much about the music industry from his father. By shadowing his musically talented family members, he has acquired music and industry experience.
Drip is more than just a timely release, thanks to its refined sound and well-constructed bars—he even casually name-drops Six Flags and Raging Waters, painting that summer picture. It’s the most recent in a string of strategic actions by an artist who has been constructing a team and brand from the ground up. The music video shot by Dwann Jaden features captivating drone footage and seamless transitions that perfectly match the song’s energy. Created by a talented self-made team, it brings a polished and entertaining flair to the release, parallel to projects from established labels.
King’s continuous growth has been marked by significant events this year, including a live performance during BET Awards Weekend and attendance at the recent 2025 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards. These achievements are impactful not just for independent artists; they demonstrate what can be achieved through vision, perseverance, and a dedicated following. Winnie Stackz, a celebrity stylist and entertainer, recognized the vision and has helped enhance King’s aspirations by providing opportunities across LA this summer.
A wider audience was introduced to King through songs such as 2023’s My Type (produced by Voice Watkins) and Party, featuring Kirko Bangz and Kevin Roldan. These releases also suggested the versatility that King is currently embracing. Supported by a multi-city tour with stops in places like L.A., San Diego, Oakland, Phoenix, Vegas, and Seattle, Drip is simultaneously getting in front of audiences and DJs.
Beyond just his music, King is building his creative lifestyle and apparel business, Troupé. He’s creating a cultural footprint that goes far beyond the stage, hosting events highlighting good causes and providing entertainment for surrounding communities. Roy Thompson, an executive at Amp Records, has already co-signed Drip as “overwhelmingly positive,” with urban areas such as Atlanta, New York City, Miami, and Houston quickly embracing him.
“Troupé” (pronounced “troo-pay”) is a modified or inventive spelling of the word “troupe,” which is typically used to describe a group of entertainers who travel while performing together, such as dancers, actors, or vocalists. “Troupé” can be interpreted as a close-knit group or movement based on a common purpose, devotion, and innovative collaboration in a contemporary cultural or artistic setting, particularly in music or fashion.
Troupé, a name that is more than simply a title—it’s a movement—is at the center of King Titus’s rise. Troupé symbolizes the self-made team King created, driven by devotion and unadulterated skill, and was born out of tenacity, loyalty, and vision. Without significant support, industry endorsements, or shortcuts, this collective works cohesively, fusing sound, graphics, and storytelling to create an impact beyond their city.
King Titus is creating something greater than simply putting out music. Drip is the most recent phase in a journey driven by self-reliance, aspiration, and a distinct sense of purpose.
