Every great musician has humble beginnings. Some begin their musical journey in church, performing with the choir, while others take on more unconventional methods, performing out in the streets or subways. Trey Cornelius is a budding artist who falls into the latter category.
Trey Cornelius is a musician who hails from Huntsville, Alabama. His passion for singing started when he was a teenager. Back then, Trey spent a lot of his time getting accustomed to the guitar, the instrument of his choice. However, once he started getting the hang of it, he began entertaining people with music. Like many artists before their big breakthrough, Trey performed various covers, participating in school shows and karaoke.
Although he was passionate about music, Trey did not actively pursue a career until he realized that others were doing the same thing and succeeding. Inspired by their success, the young musician started extracting lyrics based on his experiences and memories in life.
Having performed covers, Trey Cornelius was already a step closer to fulfilling his dream as he started recording his own songs too. While others have had a headstart with their careers, Trey’s instrumental knowledge helps set him apart from other musicians. His skills are not just limited to the guitar, as the musician is also adept at playing the piano and the banjo. Well-endowed on the musical aspect, Trey has decided to focus his energy on establishing a strong online presence. He has been actively promoting his music on several platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook Live.
Like many artists on the journey to stardom, Trey has also encountered some roadblocks in his development. “There were places I wanted to go sing at, but I couldn’t because you had to be a certain age or you had to be a member of something,” he revealed, “Once I got past that, things got easier to do. One time, I went across the country for a music competition where I made the top 40. Another hurdle was having to learn the guitar. At first, I couldn’t get the right chords into motion. However, in about two weeks, I got my fingers to work, and I already learned six chords.”
Despite the trials and tribulations that he endured, the rising artist is adamant against limiting himself to the confines of circumstances or life situations. Instead, he has fought tooth and nail with his own power and will to set his career in motion. Trey lives by the mottos, “Make it happen” and “There’s no such thing as no or never.” He was able to make it so far thanks to the support of his family and close friends, many of whom became successful in their musical careers.
Although Trey Cornelius knows that he still has a long way to go before becoming a household name, the rising artist has set his goals on getting discovered by a major label and bagging a record deal. While Trey aspires to play for large crowds, he hopes to one day stand in front of the residents of Nashville, Tennessee.
