Seasoned Musical Artist Rob Morton Was Inspired By A Heartbreaking Family Event

At some point in our lives, we all experience bad news and pain.  But it’s these life events that can often lead to personal growth. For artist, Rob Morton, heartbreaking news would become the inspiration for a song that has now touched many people’s lives.

Rob Morton is a singer and songwriter from Connecticut who creates emotional music inspired by his life experiences. One of his most listened-to compositions, Just One More Day with You has earned national awards and has been played on the radio.

One of his greatest motivations and turning points happened years ago. Rob had a heartbreaking life event, where one of his sons was diagnosed with a serious illness.  “One of my sons got very sick and we spent months in the hospital. We weren’t sure he was going to make it. This dark period made me reassess my life and ask myself, ‘Why is this happening?’ ‘How does my son view me?’ ‘How can I do better?’  I vowed that if we got out of that mess,  I would life with more daily gratitude.  It’s the moment I became a songwriter.  Before that, I had never written a song.“

Thankfully, his son recovered fully since that time, and Rob has continued writing songs since then.

Rob Morton’s song, Just One More Day with You” is one of his most powerful songs. It connects with anyone who has ever lost a loved one. This song has touched many hearts globally, with hundreds of thousands of listens.  In fact, across social media and Spotify, Rob’s music has over a million listens worldwide.

His song Lucky Back then is about daily gratitude and how we don’t know what we have until it’s gone. Its classic opening line, “I wish I knew I was lucky back then…” captures you and makes you want to keep listening.

“Many other artists will say the most important part of a song is for it to be ‘catchy.’  I start with lyrics – and if the song happens to turn out catchy through the process, that’s just a bonus. It is more important for me to convey a concept or to feel through words”, says the singer and songwriter.

As he continues to write music, he looks forward to attracting more people who enjoy heartfelt and soulful genres.  “We all judge success differently. I’m thrilled with my level of success so far.  There are some people out there that know my songs.  Some have covered my songs on social media.  I’m just going to keep writing songs, and hope I can connect with more people. “

Rob Morton has two full length albums, Private Moon and Lucky Back Them, and is currently  working on his 3rd album.  If you’re interested in hearing Rob Morton’s  songs, the best place to start is “Just One More Day WIth You.”  All his songs are available on Spotify, YouTube, AppleMusic and many other popular platforms.  On Instagram, he is @robmortonmusic.
