Logan, Utah – July 31, 2025 – Selling on Amazon has never been purely about numbers. For many brands, success often depends on balancing creative presentation with solid market intelligence. That balance is the focus of SmartScout’s latest moves — a major platform update paired with the release of its Voice of the Amazon Seller 2025 report.
The Utah-based analytics company tracks tens of millions of Amazon listings, distilling the data into visual dashboards that make it easier for sellers to understand where they stand, what seems to be working, and what might need adjustment in a changing Amazon marketplace.
Tools Designed for Smarter, More Creative Strategies
Scope, SellerMap, and a suite of AI-supported tools headline the latest updates. Scope now provides deeper historical revenue analysis and new filtering options for more precise market research. SellerMap’s fresh heatmaps and seller-type filters make it simpler to identify areas where certain products or brands may perform better.
Other tools, including Ad Spy, Keyword Detective, Traffic Graph, and Listing Architect, have been enhanced for improved speed and more intuitive navigation. The FBA Calculator now reflects Amazon’s updated fees and shipping rates, helping sellers gain a clearer understanding of profitability.
“Our users want data they can rely on and act upon,” the SmartScout product team said. “These updates are built around their feedback, with our goal being to make e-commerce data more accessible, visual, and actionable.”
Report Findings: Profit and Brand Pressure
Led by a decline in profitability among over half of the surveyed 325 sellers, despite price increases by 67 percent of respondents, SmartScout identified growing cost pressure and heightened competition.
Among mid-size sellers, the highest percentage of account suspensions was reported (35 percent of operations disrupted). These sellers frequently expressed concerns about inconsistencies in policy enforcement and the prolonged duration required to resolve issues. There is increasing apprehension about fairness, with nearly two-thirds of respondents feeling that Amazon has become less fair over time, citing algorithm changes and competition for the Buy Box from larger brands.
There were also concerns about seller support, with 46 percent indicating that the quality of support has declined compared to two years ago. Many reported slower response times, more automated interactions, and less personalized service.
Even Amazon’s AI tools have received mixed feedback, with just over 15 percent stating that these tools had the effect of simplifying their business operations and improving listings, while about 17 percent felt that they negatively impacted business performance, particularly due to issues such as product miscategorization or inaccurate pricing suggestions. The remaining sellers were uncertain, citing limited training resources and a lack of clear guidance on how to implement new features effectively.
Data as a Creative Asset
For brands, SmartScout’s appeal lies in how it presents its information. Rather than overwhelming users with spreadsheets, the platform visualizes relationships, traffic patterns, and keyword trends — tools that can guide not only pricing and inventory decisions but also creative campaigns, photography, and product storytelling.
This allows sellers to address questions such as:
- Where might we focus our advertising efforts to reach the most relevant audience?
- How does our brand positioning compare to key competitors?
- Which regions could potentially be ripe for expansion?
The goal, SmartScout says, is to assist sellers in aligning their creative vision with market conditions that can shift from week to week.
