Harold Shipley’s Reintroduction to the Music Industry and the Birth of GPMG Records

The music industry is one of the most competitive industries today. Still, not many people know that it is laced with individuals who lack sincerity in helping aspiring artists reach their goals. Harold Shipley’s experience prompted him to drive for change, creating GPMG Records as the solution.

Harold Shipley’s early life was spent in New York’s borough of Staten Island, but he would later relocate to the Bronx, getting exposed to hip-hop. Shipley was instantly hooked, as he felt that music spoke to him, opening the door to his love for the art. When he and his family moved to Connecticut, his passion only grew stronger. Like many of his peers in high school, Shipley decided to try his luck in music but only found success to be limited as he scored one regional hit. Little did he know that his work would be a hit abroad and overseas.

The artist soon realized that being a frontman would not be enough to keep him or his family financially secure. It was a difficult decision, but Shipley resorted to other avenues, eager to obtain his desired lifestyle. He found himself involved in legal and illegal ventures, determined to become financially secure. However, Shipley was failing in both, with the illegal failures costing more than the legal ones. To avoid bringing his loved ones down, he decided to spend some time away from them.

Harold Shipley started to delve into the root of his failures to avoid repeating the same mistakes away from everyone. He concluded that he lacked knowledge in four things—mentoring others, knowledge of the music business and industry, learning to focus, and how to market himself. Once Shipley understood what needed to be done, he went straight to work. Today, Shipley has reintroduced himself into hip-hop, not as an artist but as the mentor, manager, and CEO of the record label GPMG Records.

GPMG Records is an acronym for Getto Pecvsso Music Group. As the CEO of his label, Shipley opted to recruit a small number of artists, grooming them to introduce them to the music industry. As a result, he has generated some success, helping artist Millionz of Bar$ single Fraction reach platinum. Since then, Shipley has been pushing even harder with another track by Millionz of Bar$ and Kent Jones, another platinum recording artist, coming soon.

Although he has spent more time as a mentor, Harold Shipley has also found success as a visual artist, using oil paint as his preferred medium. His ability to interpret music is drawn from his expression in painting. Shipley strives to evoke emotion, encouraging his artists to make music that tells stories like a painting.

“It’s key to marketing, and it’s key to success,” Shipley revealed, “GPMG will always tell a story with their product.”

As GPMG Records continues to grow, Shipley foresees his brand expanding to become a significant competitor in the music industry. He is also open to the concept of collaborating with globally established companies to give GPMG a more diverse line of artists.
