Born and raised in Bullhead City, Arizona, Douglas’s journey in music began at a young age. After graduating from high school, Douglas pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Southern Utah University. It was during this time that he formed a close friendship with a like-minded individual who shared his interest in music. Together, they embarked on a musical journey, releasing eight singles in the hip-hop genre as a producer/artist duo. This collaborative effort allowed Douglas to refine his skills as a writer, performer, and producer, as well as gain valuable insights into the music production process.
Following his college graduation, Douglas relocated to Northern Utah, where he continued to release music and performed their catalog at a local bar. However, geographical constraints and creative differences prompted him to make a difficult decision. Rather than giving up on his musical aspirations, he chose to invest in himself. With limited resources, he established a small home studio and dedicated countless hours to learning beat making, mixing, mastering, and engineering.
The fruits of his labor became evident with the release of “Talk Like That.” This track marked not only Douglas’s first solo project but also his fastest-growing and most well-received song to date. The overwhelming response to his music has both inspired and humbled him, reinforcing the notion that perseverance and dedication are key ingredients for success. Douglas emphasizes that every step of his musical journey, from his humble beginnings as a cash-strapped college student to the challenges of long-distance collaboration, has contributed to his growth as an artist and fueled his passion for music.
