“When I wrote this song, I had my daughter heavy on my mind. All I could think of is ‘I need to make a song of mine she can sing to.’ Also, with all that’s going on with the racial tension and misuse and abuse of black women, I wanted to write more of a mantra than a song for Black women and Black women in training,” she explained.
Besides creating music, Leash DA BEAAST also helps other upcoming artists in their journey through her music label, BEAAST Recordings. As an entrepreneur and musician, she connects with her artists in a unique way.
