The Krump Society: How Norris Lee Duckett III is Empowering LA’s Youth Through Art and Mentorship

Los Angeles is known for its vibrant culture, diverse communities, and artistic talent. Amid its dynamic energy, Norris Lee Duckett III has created a movement that goes beyond art by transforming the lives of all who participate in it and experience it. As the founder of The Krump Society, Duckett aims to give the youth of Los Angeles the skills to express themselves and develop their talent in order to prepare and find a sense of belonging.

The organization was established on January 1, 2017. Based in Lancaster, California, The Krump Society originally addressed the lack of available resources for the youth in a not-so-mainstream way. Duckett sees it as an art-house or an education space wherein imagination blooms and a community blossoms in a tight-knit, connected manner. He also brings programs into The Krump Society on ground-up photography and digital media, together with his love for the arts of storytelling.

Krumping: The Art of Expression

The Krump Society focuses on mentorship and artistic expression as well. It exposes youth to Krump, a high-energy, expressive dance form that originated in Los Angeles. For participants, Krumping is a language and a means of expressing emotions. The Kids Summer Krump program helps create a safe environment where children and teenagers learn while developing friendships that last for a long time.

Serving the Community through The Krump Society

Beyond dance, The Krump Society addresses broader community needs. The organization offers after-school activities, professional job training, and support for family wellness. These programs aim to provide youth with practical skills and confidence while producing connections across generations. Duckett believes in bridging gaps between the past and present to preserve valuable traditions while inspiring new ideas.

Duckett’s dedication has earned The Krump Society accolades, including the Distinguished Content & Marketing Social Responsibility Award. But for him, the real reward lies in the success of the youth he serves. By helping them find stability and purpose, The Krump Society breaks the cycle of instability that often affects underserved communities.

A notable aspect of Duckett’s work is his focus on foster youth. The Krump Society realizes the challenges children face in the foster care system, providing support structures that can be likened to a family. This helps stabilize them, instill hope, and pave the way to a brighter future.

Norris Lee Duckett III and His Other Accomplishments

Duckett is also an accomplished photographer and educator with a Master of Fine Arts in Photography and Multimedia from the California Institute of Arts. He guides his students in photography, video production, and digital media through his expertise. His ability to combine technical skills with creative vision makes him an influential mentor in both the arts and education.

#Krump4theolympics

The Krump Society’s aspirations extend to global settings like the Olympics. The organization supports the #krump4theolympics campaign, advocating for Krump to be recognized as an Olympic sport. This initiative will bring out the cultural and athletic importance of the dance form, providing a platform for young artists to share their talent with the world.

Through art, mentorship, and community engagement, Norris Lee Duckett III is shaping lives and inspiring a movement that redefines success for the Los Angeles youth. He is one of the few people who have brought dancing to such an influential position in America’s landscape.
