Vancouver Band Moving City Takes Local Music Scene by Storm with Unique Sound and Captivating Performances

Vancouver-based band Moving City is making waves in the local music scene with their unique sound and captivating performances. The five-piece band, consisting of Andrew Facciolo, Logan Shaw, Chris Johnson, Madison Norton, and Jan Toren, has come a long way since their humble beginnings in a small shared apartment in Toronto.

Andrew and Logan, the founding members of Moving City, bonded over their love for music and began writing songs together while living together in a one-bedroom apartment in Toronto in 2013. Despite being forced to sleep in different parts of the apartment to save on rent, the two quickly established a creative atmosphere and a shared passion for music

After a hiatus due to life events and travels, the two reunited in Vancouver in the summer of 2020 and continued their music project under strange circumstances caused by the pandemic. They wrote a plethora of new songs and decided to record a full album, which was produced by Chris Johnson in his DIY studio in Vancouver. The result was their debut album “2308,” which was released in December 2020.

Since then, Moving City has released three more albums, with their latest EP “SNACKS” set to be released in early June. The band has also gained local recognition, playing gigs in Vancouver and even performing at the prestigious NXNE festival in 2022, where they were included in Indie 88’s top 20 bands to see.

Moving City’s music is a unique blend of folk, rock, and experimental sounds, with lyrics that reflect personal experiences and emotions. Their latest album “Little Dogs” features sounds of nature captured during a road trip in Squamish and Whistler, giving their music a raw and authentic feel.

With a growing fanbase and a dedicated group of musicians, Moving City is poised to take the local music scene by storm. Their unique sound and captivating performances are not to be missed, and fans of indie rock and experimental folk music should keep an eye out for their upcoming EP “SNACKS” and future performances.
