When most musicians stick to doing one thing with their music, CMILL444 knew early on he wanted to go on a different track. This young artist’s music is a combination of R&B, hip-hop, and rap, with his own unique twist added. With the success of his first album, High Off Life, released in October of last year, more CMILL444 hits will keep on coming.
CMILL444 is a 19-year old artist who grew up in Michigan. He did a bit of modeling and acting at a young age but soon discovered his passion for music. The budding musician started making music for fun before deciding to take it more seriously. “I first started making music in my basement with a MacBook and Apple earbuds. It took me two years to master my sound and find the message I want to relay,” he shares.
As is typical for most musicians, CMILL444 draws inspiration from artists who have come before him. Citing Day Glow, Juice WRLD, Swae Lee, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Paramore, and Lil Wayne as some of his musical heroes, CMILL444 likes to mix different genres in the songs he makes.
CMILL444 has been experimenting with music since he started, saying, “All of my music is freestyled. I don’t write a single lyric down. When I enter the studio, I always come with a different mindset, a different feeling, a new message.” As an artist, he finds it important to be a good influence on the people who listen to his music. He shares, “I promote happiness and positivity. With each song, I spread a positive message that will make you rethink your perspectives on life.”
In October 2020, CMILL444 released his first album High Off Life. This project is abstract, and it combines a variety of genres for all listeners. With 17 songs, this album is sure to have the perfect song for anyone. “I am proud of this album,” he shares, “I think I made hit songs that all sound different. But I don’t focus much on making one hit; I much prefer to focus on making good music overall.” This first album has been well-received by a wide audience, and it is already generating buzz about its groundbreaking tracks and unique sound.
When asked why he makes music, CMILL444 answers, “Music changed my life, and I want others to experience the same feeling. Music is my therapy. I enjoy experimenting with the wordplay and finding new sounds.” He believes that music can bond people, and this artist likes to write songs about feelings most people go through. “When people can relate to something in a song, they tend to enjoy it. And that is what I have been doing, taking familiar feelings and experiences and turning it into good music.”
In keeping with the positivity in his music, CMILL444 is set to release songs throughout the summer. “I plan to start a summer wave by dropping summer vibe songs all season long,” the musician shares. The first single he will be releasing for this summer wave is a track called Sunkissed. “It will drop on June 25, with the music video to be released the following week,” he reveals. He has been actively promoting this new project, and fans are excitedly waiting for new music.
“Coming from a middle-class family, I always dreamed of doing something big. My younger self could never have imagined that tinkering with music in my basement would lead me to where I am today,” CMILL444 shares, “I hope that anyone who listens to my music or supports me in my journey will feel inspired to follow their dreams. My music is my gift to them.”
