Early Life of Scott Aharoni

Scott Aharoni was born in Great Neck, New York, in 1994. He grew up studying the art of sleight of hand magic. He performed on stage and at special events, telling stories with each trick he performed. After watching the first Harry Potter film hit the big screen, his fascination with movie magic helped jumpstart his love for cinema. 

He was introduced to moviemaking early on in his life since the middle school he attended created their first filmmaking class for students to take. With that class, he began to learn about the magic behind moviemaking, and already being a young sleight-of-hand magician, he was able to appreciate such magic, and in turn, his career began to unfold. He graduated from William A. Shine Great Neck South High School and Hofstra University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Film and Television Production. Aharoni began his career as a freelance director, shooting music videos and experimental short films while still in film school. His work has been featured in major film festivals around the world. In addition to his work as a director, Aharoni is also a successful producer and executive. 

Bardo—A Short Film That Elevated Aharoni’s Path Towards Success!

Scott Aharoni is a filmmaker who specializes in emotionally deep and cathartic films. For his senior thesis film project, he financed, directed, produced, and edited his short film titled Bardo. The film earned the first-ever Golden Lion Award, given to the year’s best director and best short film, at the 20th Annual Hofstra Film Festival. Alongside this, Aharoni also received the best director, producer, editor, and best actor awards during the film’s festival circuit.

In 2016, Aharoni earned a summa cum laude Latin honors degree from Hofstra University’s Honors College. He is currently working on a few projects and planning to make his directorial debut. Aharoni is a rising star in the film industry and is someone to watch out for in the future.

Aharoni is a rising star in the filmmaking world, with several award-winning films to his credit. His latest film, Les Criminels, was shortlisted for the 94th Academy Awards, and it is easy to see why. In addition, his films are visually stunning and incredibly acted, with beautiful cinematography and expertly-choreographed action sequences. Co-Founder of Cinegryphon

After directing and producing several different films, Aharoni co-founded Cinegryphon Entertainment, a New York City-based entertainment production firm with Mustafa Kaymak and Sinan Eczacibasi. Under the auspices of Cinegryphon Entertainment, the projects currently under development include the feature narrative film, The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write about a Serial Killer by writer/director Tolga Karacelik; the feature adaptation of the short film Green, which will be directed by Suzanne Andrews Correa; and feature documentary The Walk, directed by Oscar nominee Tamara Kotevska (Honeyland). Cinegryphon Entertainment is also set to turn the YA classic novel, The Blue Castle by Lucy Maud Montgomery into a feature film.
