In the dynamic world of UX design, Jinda Zhong stands out as a visionary designer whose work bridges technological innovation and human-centered impact. From creating TravelBot, a travel assistant revolutionizing how graduate professionals navigate their lives, to the community-focused HHood platform, Jinda’s designs are more than functional tools—they are transformative experiences that redefine well-being, connection, and empowerment.
TravelBot: Simplifying Travel for Modern Professionals
TravelBot was born from a keen observation of the challenges faced by graduate students and professionals constantly balancing their academic, personal, and travel commitments. Recognizing the stress inherent in planning conferences, research trips, and professional obligations, Jinda Zhong & Hui Jing designed TravelBot as an intelligent travel assistant that not only simplifies logistics but also transforms travel into an opportunity for growth.

“Travel should not be a source of stress. I wanted TravelBot to act as an invisible companion—quietly organizing schedules, recommending cost-effective solutions, and giving users peace of mind so they can focus on their goals.” by Jinda Zhong.
What sets TravelBot apart is its ability to integrate users’ calendars seamlessly, analyzing time, location, and cost constraints to generate travel recommendations that align perfectly with their needs. For Jinda, it was essential to craft a tool that addressed both practical concerns and emotional well-being.
The project’s societal impact and thoughtful execution have garnered significant recognition. Most notably, TravelBot won the C2A (Creative Communication Award) 2024, placing Jinda’s work alongside some of the innovative projects in design. It was also featured at the “On the Critical Point: Wanderlust and Nostalgia in the New Age” exhibition at the University of Pennsylvania Museum, an exploration of contemporary experiences of movement and longing. For Jinda, the exhibition was not just an accolade but a reflection of TravelBot’s ability to tackle real-world challenges and provide solutions that resonate deeply with modern audiences.

HHood: Reimagining Neighborhood Connectivity
While TravelBot empowers individuals, HHood addresses an equally significant challenge—strengthening communities in an increasingly fragmented urban landscape. Designed as a community support platform, HHood brings neighbors together by centralizing local interactions: trusted repair services, second-hand marketplaces, and event organization.
Jinda drew inspiration for HHood from the timeless philosophy that “it takes a village.” Urbanization, while offering opportunities, often weakens the bonds of trust and connection that define healthy communities.
“HHood seeks to restore the neighborhood spirit in a digital age. It’s about creating a safe, collaborative space where everyone feels valued and connected.” by Jinda Zhong.
HHood’s clean, intuitive interface aims to ensure inclusivity for all users—whether they are tech-savvy professionals, busy parents, or elderly residents. It simplifies resource-sharing and amplifies sustainability by reducing inefficiencies and promoting local collaboration.
The platform’s significance extends beyond utility; it fosters a culture of mutual support and belonging. As Jinda prepares to exhibit HHood in upcoming showcases, it’s clear that the project is positioned to redefine how technology can enhance community living.
Jinda is excited to share that HHood will be featured at the 2nd Florence Annual International Art Exhibition, taking place at Palazzo Bellini from January 4-8, 2025.
