Donyay recorded his first song when he was 11 after years of falling in love with poetry, writing poems, turning them into music by adding melodies and rhythm. The journey came with sacrifices as Donyay had to skip school many times to go to the studio. His passion for the arts is evident in his songs, and his fans get the best of him all the time. He was initially nicknamed “Yay,” and he got “Don” added to his name after his friends tagged him a boss when he released his first mixtape.
With plans in place to stay on his musical path, Donyay sees himself growing into a well-rounded artist with a globally recognized music catalog in five years. He also has his eyes set on having the number one single globally and winning at the Grammys. Making it into the music charts is not enough for Donyay; he hopes to climb to the top while getting the whole world listening to his upcoming single, “Swipe,” which is out now.
