Miah Velasquez, aka MimiV, the 11-Year-Old Promising Talent Aiming to Reach Great Heights in the Artistic Performance/Dance Industry

For many, it is challenging to set one’s eyes on a particular career and think so far ahead in the future. It takes others decades to finally decide on the path they want to follow, with some of them needing to expose themselves to a host of jobs. Others end up going through the motions as a consequence of not discovering their passion. However, the case is different with the 11-year-old promising talent Miah Velasquez, also known as Mimi. This young go-getter, who hopes to make a name as a dancer one day, has realized her dream in childhood and is set to translate it into reality in the years to come.

Adored by her family and friends, Miah Velasquez is a firecracker who loves to entertain others and has demonstrated the potential to excel at dancing from the get-go. At the age of three, this aspirant started dancing, taking on various styles. Eventually, she gravitated toward hip-hop and is currently honing her skills on the dance floor.

Despite her young age, Miah Velasquez has already managed to snag numerous accomplishments under her belt, proving testament to the power of passion in propelling individuals—regardless of their age and years of experience. Through her success, she also sets an example for other children, tweens, and teenagers to follow. More than anything else, the milestones she’s reached highlight the fact that anyone can have a shot at materializing their dreams so long as they have the opportunity to do so and are willing to persevere amid the odds.

So far, Miah Velasquez has walked during New York Fashion Week for Sherry Hill, Nancy Vuu, and many other designers, a feat that cemented her multifacetedness. Additionally, the passion-fueled hopeful added acting to her arsenal of skills at the age of seven by appearing alongside Ethan Hawke, Amanda Seyfried, and Cedric the Entertainer in a film. On top of gracing a television commercial that aired during the 2020 Grammys as a featured dancer for MasterCard, she’s also started making a mark through a long list of other endeavors in the world of dance, film, and entertainment.

While Miah Velasquez is not closing her doors to other career paths, her heart is set on becoming a professional choreographer and studio owner. To see that dream come to fruition, she is pouring her time and effort into expanding her skillset and perfecting her craft. For some time now, Mimi has worked as a professional dancer for Long Island Nets, Acapop Kids, Brooklyn Nets as well as for the new TV Show hosted by Wayne Brady on Fox called Game of Talents.

Undeniably, the road ahead is still long for Miah Velasquez. But this passionate personality is bound to achieve her goals as long as she remains committed to the vision of becoming a professional choreographer. In the meantime, the young entertainer, who is on the elite roster of talents at the Los Angeles-based The Lab Studios, is juggling her time between raining and spreading kindness. Her most recent project, #MimiCares, aimed at collecting money from her family members to buy shoes and dance gear for a whole dance team in Kenya, Africa.
