Stacey Jackson Celebrates Women with ‘SUPER WOMAN’ Anthem

By: Sarah Morton

Stacey Jackson is redefining what it takes to be a pop star, proving that age is just a number and that empowerment can come at any stage in life. Launching her music career at 40, she has inspired women worldwide with her passion and resilience. Her latest single, “SUPER WOMAN,”  released on July 19th, is a dynamic pop/dance anthem that serves as the title track of her upcoming album of the same name.

Stacey describes being inspired to write “SUPER WOMAN” by the community of driven, strong-minded, brilliant, empowering women she has been surrounded with her whole life. Having such positivity and inspiration around, she expresses, is a catalyst for her creativity. “All of my positive relationships throughout the years have been integral to my journey, and that’s what inspires my songs.”

Balancing her roles as a mother, entrepreneur, and musician, Stacey attributes her success to community and self-care. She is a firm believer in looking after oneself “because if you are not a happy ‘You,’ I think you will not be able to be a happy mom, partner, friend, co-worker, etc.”

Her past collaboration with Snoop Dogg on “Live It Up” was a significant milestone in her career. Reflecting on this, Stacey says, “If someone told me when I was 11 dreaming of becoming a popstar that 30 years later, I would be recording a record with Snoop Dogg, I would’ve thought they were crazy. Having that experience gave my artistry a notch of validation in a really tough, ageist industry, but perhaps even gave me more confidence to propel forward and take more chances.”

Her new album features a mix of 80s-inspired pop and modern dance tracks, reflecting Stacey’s deep connection to the music of her youth. “I grew up in the 80s and have been massively influenced by the genres of music in that era. I was a hardcore rocker in the early to mid-80s and then got into dance and hip hop,” she explains. “The sounds in the studio today are even more sophisticated, and working with young, talented producers as well as some incredible veterans in the industry helped me achieve that fusion of sound between the 80s and the 2020s.”

Stacey’s music often carries messages of self-belief. She ensures these themes resonate with her audience through her lyrics and performances. “When I’m performing, I try to tell some stories of why I wrote that particular record or some funny and interesting tidbits of the industry or my journey. I love to engage with the audience.”

Looking ahead, Stacey is excited about promoting “SUPER WOMAN” to women across the globe, with other exciting plans for the future. “I am currently on tour around the UK, performing at festivals, clubs, and prides around the country, with my incredible dancers in tow! I am also simultaneously plugging the book, ‘How A Gangsta Rapper Made Me a Better Mom,’ doing loads of podcasts and radio too. At the end of the year, the audio version of the book will be released with an entire soundtrack that I wrote incorporated into the story.”

Stacey Jackson’s journey is one of perseverance and the unwavering belief that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Her new single “SUPER WOMAN” is set to inspire and uplift women worldwide, proving once again that age is just a number and empowerment is for everyone.
