Stevie Alger: The Artist Redefining Contemporary Art Through Texture, Identity and Human Connection

By Hype Social Media Strategy LLC

Australian born, Los Angeles based artist Stevie Alger is building an international presence with her distinctive faceless figures, expressive impasto technique and a growing collector base that includes prominent names in entertainment, sport and music.

LOS ANGELES, CA: In an art world increasingly shaped by digital imagery and artificial intelligence, painter Stevie Alger is making a statement through something unmistakably human: original, tactile and unapologetically expressive art.

Based in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, Alger has transformed her passion for painting into a full time career, selling more than 150 original works to collectors internationally in 2026 alone. Working with heavy impasto, her paintings are defined by bold compositions, rich layers of texture and her signature faceless figures.

The faceless figure is at the heart of Alger’s artistic identity, and its origin is deeply personal. She has suffered from night terrors about faces since she was five. Cartoons and mythical creatures never frightened her, but real faces did, and they stayed with her for months at a time.

Without meaning to, she began painting them out on sleepless nights. Faceless figures became her signature long before she understood where they came from, and she only saw the connection when a friend pointed it out. Since she started painting, she has slept more peacefully than at any point since childhood.

“I turn a negative experience into a positive. It has given me a peace and a health I haven’t known since I was five,” says Alger. “What I feel on the inside is usually different to what shows on the outside. A faceless face is the version of a person that does not make it to the surface.”

This recurring element connects her diverse collections, spanning portraiture, sport and Western inspired themes.

“I will not make boring art. I will not make art that tries too hard. I will make art that makes people think and feel, art that makes them talk. I will release my inner weirdo. Go big, go bold, or go home,” she says.

A Growing Presence in the Los Angeles Art Scene

In September 2026, Alger held a three day solo exhibition with BaileyWick Gallery at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood during Fall Design Week, with the entire gallery dedicated to her work.

The exhibition resulted in multiple sales and new relationships with collectors and fine art galleries, with industry professionals describing her work as timeless and representative of a generational change.

Her gallery journey began at CLTR in Downtown Los Angeles, where she was selected as a featured artist shortly after first sharing her paintings publicly.

Today, her work can be found in multimillion dollar Hollywood Hills residences, leading music studios and prestigious Los Angeles establishments, including Mulholland Tennis Club, Love Street Social, Casa Pilates and Hollywood Pilates.

Her growing recognition has also reached the music industry, including an original artwork commissioned by a touring artist’s team and delivered ahead of his tour.

LINDA: A New Creative Chapter

Alger is currently developing LINDA, an ambitious ten piece series in which each painting captures Linda’s personality on a particular day. The collection represents a new creative direction and is already being regarded by acclaimed Los Angeles fine art galleries as her strongest body of work to date.

With international curators, collectors and galleries increasingly approaching her, Alger is preparing for Art Basel Miami Beach this December while transitioning into her third studio, reflecting the continued growth of her practice.

Art With Soul in an AI Driven World

Beyond her artistic practice, Alger brings more than a decade of experience as a senior creative director and internationally award winning marketer, having worked across more than 40 global brands.

This background informs her understanding of visual identity, cultural relevance and the power of a strong creative point of view.

For Alger, the increasing dominance of AI and digital screens makes handmade art more valuable, not less.

“The texture, the human touch, the proof that a person stood in front of this canvas and made something. In a world dominated by AI and screens, that’s my advantage, because my work has soul.”

Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that collectors are increasingly looking for art with a story, individuality and a strong sense of identity.

As galleries and the contemporary art market continue to evolve, Alger believes that artists willing to embrace their differences and create work that feels genuinely human will stand out.

“The work that survives is either unforgettable or deeply human. Mine will be both.”
