Sofia is a multi-faceted visionary. She nails everything from songwriting and playing various musical instruments to producing her own music. The 19-year-old artist from South London is creating waves in the alternative rock scene fueled by her passion for 90s rock music. She has always been inspired by the music of Oasis and the Stone Roses, bands that molded her to be the artist she is today.
Putting her own spin on alternative rock, Sofia thrills her listeners with melodic bass lines and raging electric guitars merged with catchy hooks. Sofia is unafraid of expressing herself and her artistry through her music, and because of her rawness and authenticity, she has generated a growing fanbase and community formed by people across the globe.
Asked where her journey began, Sofia shared that she first learned how to play the guitar at the age of seven when their family lived in Geneva. Her father played a significant role in her music taste growing up, recalling that they would listen to all kinds of music whenever and wherever they could, singing melodies and harmonies together. A year after she learned to play the guitar, she began writing her own songs. From there, the artist performed at every opportunity she could find–open mic nights, performing with local bands, and appearing at local festivals.
When her family moved back to London in 2010, songwriting gave her comfort and allowed her to navigate her feelings and emotions. From all her performances since age seven, Sofia has encountered many opportunities that have led her to bigger stages. While not all of her open doors brought her to the milestones she was hoping to accomplish, some of them leaving her with disappointment, she learned from each of them and became stronger.
Determined to rise, she strived harder after every disappointment to produce her own music and play all the necessary instruments to achieve her unique sound. A self-taught artist, she amazed the world when she released her latest track, “Big Deal.”
Sofia dreams of not only pursuing her innate talent and passion for music but creating a lasting change in the music industry by bringing a fresh perspective to alternative rock. She aims to empower people with her music and produce songs that people can relate to.
On top of pursuing her music career, Sofia is also studying at the Brit School in Croydon, pursuing a Music Business Degree focusing on the legal and professional side of the music landscape.
