Glory, Home, and Horizons: A Christmas Art Journey in London

[London, UK]—From December 12 to 15, 2024, the M P Birla Millennium Gallery in London hosted the Christmas art exhibition “Glory, Homeland, and the Future: A Christmas Celebration.” The event offered visitors an opportunity to explore the themes of home, aspiration, and achievement through a diverse collection of artworks. Designed to inspire reflection and connection, the exhibition featured a range of artistic interpretations that invited audiences to ponder their personal journeys, celebrate shared traditions, and consider their visions for the future.

At its heart, the exhibition explored the profound concept of home, delving into themes of belonging. Whether rooted in the nostalgic warmth of childhood or the enduring bonds with loved ones from afar, each piece invited visitors to reconnect with the universal feeling of “home” within. Equally poignant was the celebration of glory, which offered a lens through which to revisit life’s pivotal milestones—both triumphs and regrets. These reflections honored the guiding values that propel us forward. Meanwhile, the theme of the future emerged as a hopeful narrative, expressed through subtle yet powerful artworks that illuminated the journey of personal growth. These pieces captured moments of solitude, emphasizing the delicate balance between isolation and the enduring spark of hope. Together, the exhibition inspired optimism and courage for the uncharted possibilities ahead.

The exhibition was organized by the Y Manifesto team, guided by curator Yuran Lin and Executive Curator Xuechen Wang, with the support of honorary partners Shuyi Liu and Yachu Feng. Bringing together 21 artist groups, the event highlighted various creative approaches and interpretations. Two invited jurors provided additional perspectives, contributing to the dialogue around the exhibition’s central themes. This collaborative effort aimed to create a platform for diverse artistic expressions, encouraging visitors to engage with the works on multiple levels.

The first juror, Peiyao (Heather) Tang, is an accomplished graphic designer who integrates visual art and new media. Her innovative works have been featured in prestigious exhibitions, including the Louvre in France, as well as in Hong Kong and Vancouver. The second juror, Mingyue Qu, serves as Chief Product Designer in Los Angeles, focusing on product and user experience design. Her portfolio includes redesign projects for top-tier clients such as Netflix, Amazon, ByteDance, and Wish, bringing innovative perspectives to the exhibition.

The participating artists are: Shiyao Xia, Zixiang Zhang, Xiang Zhai, Yihong Pan, Sizhe Wang, Annie He, Yefan Liu, Zilan Zhou, Jiayi Chen, Yubo Zhao, JQYY (Jing Chen, Qizhen Tang, Yanci Chen, Yinzhu Yao), Mengyu Zhou, Yuying Song, Yifei Cheng, Fiona Chen, Jiaxing Guo, Jingjiao Zhang, Xiaosu Jing, Yilun Li, Andi Zhou, Siyuan Ma, Bo Bao, Chunxuan Yu, Liying Peng, Jinda Zhong, and Hui Jing.
