How LAZYRAVE’s Setbacks Helped Shape Its Distinct Sound That Fans Love

The advent of technology has bred a society of impatient people who crave instant gratification. As such, many get easily disappointed when things do not go their way. However, one insightful music group realizes that great things take time. After seven years in the making, the remarkable LAZYRAVE is finally making its make and taking the music scene by storm.

Based in Newcastle, the electronic band is composed of frontman Dan Clark, drummer Ben Kindlan, producer Mark “Clem” Clemmett, and tech engineer Pete Cheyne. With each one bringing their unique expertise to the table, the four gifted individuals have formed a one-of-a-kind group that sets out to redefine and revolutionizes the EDM space.

By combining their individual styles and experiences, the artists ensure that the music they create plays deep into every rave, every afterparty, and every live performance. The members insightfully explained, “We want to create a positive connection with everyone who listens to our music. We don’t stick to a manufactured formula. Instead, we try to blend our music across genres drawing from our collective experiences.”

Because of its distinct and captivating sound, LAZYRAVE has become the talk of the town, playing in the most popular spots across the UK and Europe. However, the band’s journey to stardom was not an easy one.

The group was started by Clem and Dan, who often met at parties and festivals. The pair always talked about collaborating and making tunes together during their encounters. Eventually, in 2015, they finally made their first track, “1up.”

Fondly looking back on the journey, Dan shared, “The fun little electronic track had elements that were ravey like the 303, but it was only 110 bpm and had this laid back lazy kinda feel to it, so we decided it sounded like a lazy rave track, and that was when the name of our new project was birthed, LAZYRAVE.”

Yet despite already making excellent progress, making music had to take a back seat because both members have full-time jobs and can only meet up a couple of times every month. In 2019, four years after the band’s inception, Benny joined and took on the role of drummer. Pete soon became part of the team as the tech-wizard and synth master. Finally, the group is complete and ready to showcase their talent.

However, just when things were already starting to fall into place, the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the world and affected countless industries, including the live music scene. This initially devastated LAZYRAVE, but the intuitive artists used it as an opportunity to hone their craft better and improve their sound. The setback proved to be an incredible blessing as it gave the members much-need time to write, plot, and plan their next move.

Now that restrictions have eased, LAZYRAVE is in full swing and has captured the attention of music lovers and party-goers. Moreover, the band is making waves for its kinetic, atmospheric, evocative, propulsive, grungy, dreamy, and euphoric sound, a signature trademark that embodies LAZYRAVE’s authentic music.
