From Queue to Exit: How Zeitgeist is Creating Immersive Experiences

As the largest generation and the present workforce’s majority, Millennials are a driving force in the US economy. According to a recent report, 72% of those between the ages of 26 and 41 prefer experiences over material products. Instead of purchasing new cars, clothes, and devices, Millennials are spending their disposable income on memorable moments.

No one is better prepared to meet this trend than Ryan Harmon, Joe Lanzisero, and the team at Zeitgeist Design & Production in Pasadena, California. Since 2010, the company has transformed everyday moments into unforgettable memories for brands around the world. Immersive experiences were once reserved for amusement parks, but today, corporate events, retail businesses, resorts and even marketing pop-ups are getting in on the action.

Immersive experiences surround users with a story

The Zeitgeist team derives its name from the German word for “spirit of the time.” To keep experiences fresh, they employ state-of-the-art technology and draw inspiration from local trends and pop culture. The team’s real magic, however, springs from an art as old as time.

“We bring experiences to life through the power of storytelling,” says Ryan Harmon, Zeitgeist’s president and chief creative officer. “With a story, we can transform one brand’s moment into the experience of a lifetime — one that makes headlines and goes viral.”

Zeitgeist has assembled the dream team of experience creation. Together, they have designed well over $12 billion dollars worth of successful projects for such brands as Disney, Universal, Sea World, Warner Bros., and China’s Chimelong. The team shares a combined 127 years of experience as Walt Disney Imagineers, and each boasts an average of 35 years in the industry.

“We stick to what we do best,” explains Joe Lanzisero, Zeitgeist’s executive vice president and chief art director. “We create a story through ideation, scripting, illustrating, and planning. We then bring that tale to life through our expertise in architecture, engineering, technical production, lighting, graphics, audio, landscaping, and interior design.

With the magic of storytelling and the right planning, even mundane moments can be transformed into thrilling adventures. Guests can experience the Zeitgeist team’s work at Disney theme parks worldwide, dark rides, thrill rides, motion simulators, animatronics shows, corporate product reveals, live shows, walk-thru attractions, brand experiences, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, casinos, historical centers, experiential retail, themed dining, and themed resorts.

Zeitgeist takes on dark thrills with three unforgettable Halloween experiences

Chainsaws and fake blood alone are no longer enough to make Millennials and Gen Zers jump in a Halloween attraction. As such, Harmon and his team at Zeitgeist have tapped into the power of immersive storytelling to take three of their recent haunted house walk-through experiences at Pennsylvania’s famous Hersheypark to the next level.

Each haunted house at Hersheypark’s Dark Nights incorporates a spine-tingling backstory, complex characters, state-of-the-art costumes, professional theatrics, clever effects, and unique physical encounters. In the “Haunted Coal Mine,” guests descend into an abandoned Pennsylvanian mineshaft where gnome-like creatures do whatever it takes to protect their hoarded gold. “Creature Chaos” explores the area’s legends about mythical creatures by taking guests into the sideshow of the sketchy cryptozoologist, Professor Stanley Darkstone. When his ravenous creatures escape their cages, no one is safe. Finally, “Twisted Darkness” drops visitors into another dimension through fortune teller Madame Zola’s psychic visions. Her funhouse quickly turns into a nightmarish carnival of terrors with little hope of escape.

“To design thrilling experiences unique to Pennsylvania, we began with Hersheypark’s natural setting,” Lanzisero remarks. “The creekside autumn forest provided us with a perfect dark palate to paint. We researched the area’s lore and legends to design a fresh experience unlike any other haunted house in the country.”

“We approached each house by designing an immersive narrative for you to walk through,” explains Harmon. “You are surrounded on all sides by a compelling multimedia story that unfolds all around you and culminates in a spectacular finale. Any haunted attraction can deliver a physical jump scare, but our goal was to go much deeper. A great scary story has the power to touch your emotions and haunt your dreams for nights to come!”Today’s millennials want multisensory, enriching experiences in everything from travel to a trip to the grocery store. The proof is on social media; over 500 million Instagram users are posting to the platform every day, and they’re not sharing what they own — they’re sharing the compelling experiences they have. The Zeitgeist team combines master storytelling, creative artistry, and the latest technologies to transform their everyday moments into shareable memories.

Billie Eilish to Drop New Album “Happier Than Ever” on July 30

Image from Billie Eilish website

Billie Eilish first gained attention with her song “Ocean Eyes” back in 2015. Since this first release, the American singer-songwriter has cemented her reputation in the music industry. Her song “Bad Guy” became Billie’s first number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. She also performed the theme song “No Time to Die” for the James Bond film, which then became her first number 1 single in the UK.

Two years after the release of her first studio album, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Billie Eilish surprised fans with news that her sophomore album, Happier Than Ever, will be released on July 30. After revealing her new blonde look through an Instagram post, this young artist also turned to social media to announce her latest project.

In this social media post, she wrote, “This is my favorite thing I’ve ever created, and I am so excited and eager for you to hear it.” Billie Eilish further shares how she has never felt more love for a project. In that same post, she announced the release of her first single from Happier than Ever on April 29 at 9 AM PT.

Prior to announcing her album drop, Billie Eilish had released a snippet of a new song, presumably taken from its music video, which now has over 18 million views. Fans have shown their love and excitement for this new song already, with the post having over 97 thousand comments.

In another recently posted nine-second clip, fans can hear Billie Eilish singing the words “Try not to abuse your power” over slow guitar accompaniment. This teaser for her new song, “Your Power,” features Billie’s delicate vocals and a scenic view of mountains.

This young artist made a splash at the 2020 Grammy Awards for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, her debut studio album. She was nominated for six awards and won five of them: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best New Artist. This feat is impressive as Billie Eilish is only the second person and first female artist to win the four main Grammy categories—record, album, and song of the year, as well as best new artist.

Her first album featured dark, almost horror film-like aesthetics. For the majority of this era, Billie Eilish dyed her hair black and lime green. But her new blonde look seems to hint at lighter aesthetics for her second album. Happier Than Ever is a 16-song album, and it also includes her two previous releases, “My Future” and “Therefore I Am.” Like her first album, this new one is also written and produced with her brother and collaborator, Finneas.

Happier Than Ever is fast becoming a highly anticipated album for this year. With Billie Eilish being known for dark wordplay in her lyrics that somehow spark a sense of truth in its simplicity, it is interesting to see how she has evolved as an artist with this new album.

Happier Than Ever will be out on July 30. For more information about Billie Eilish and her upcoming projects, you may visit her website or Instagram page.

Trey Songz Won’t Face Charges for Alleged Altercation with the Cops

Source: BC Heights

Popular R&B artist Trey Songz will not be facing charges for an alleged altercation with police officers at the AFC championship game in Kansas City, prosecutors announced on Tuesday, April 27. Mike Mansur, a spokesman for Jackson County’s prosecutor’s office, pointed out that the evidence gathered thus far is insufficient, and the police were notified of this decision late last week.

Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, was arrested and jailed overnight in January. Police have said he scuffled with officers during his arrest. On January 24, 2021, Songz was arrested in Kansas City, Missouri, while attending the conference championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. Fans were heckling Songz, and he asked them to “chill out.” An officer came over, and from sources and a video released by TMZ, an altercation ensued. This altercation leads to Songz’s arrest and charges of trespassing, resisting arrest, and for assaulting a police officer, a low-grade felony. He was released from custody the next day.

Sources connected to Songz with direct knowledge told TMZ he believes the officer in question had it in for him long before the altercation. When the officer came over to him, he was immediately aggressive. Another source says the officer’s issue before the incident was that Trey and his crew were not wearing masks and refused to put them on. Kansas City Police Department released the security video from their section, which showed that his Songz’s party had several warnings after multiple encounters with security and police, eventually resulting in Songz being calmly escorted out of the seating area. At that point, he threw the first punch at the police officer.

The police report said the man refused to follow orders from private security guards and was asked to leave. When he refused, officers from the Kansas City police and Jackson County Sheriff’s office were called, and he was told he would be arrested if he didn’t comply. The report said he punched one officer and put him in a headlock.

When reacting to the prosecutor’s decision not to pursue the case, Captain David Jackson, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, said on Tuesday that the completed case file, including surveillance video, was sent to prosecutors. He added that “the prosecutor decides to charge or not charge a suspect.” Songz’s representative, Sydney Margetson, declined to comment on the prosecutor’s decision.

In October, Songz posted on Instagram that he had tested positive for COVID-19. He said he was taking the disease very seriously and urged his fans to do the same.

Songz is a three-time Grammy-nominated singer. He earned his fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart with Back Home last year. His other four chart-topping albums are Passion, Pain & Pleasure; Chapter V; Trigga; and Tremaine The Album. He has also appeared in films including Texas Chainsaw 3D and Baggage Claim, and he starred in Blood Brother in 2018.

In 2017, Songz was charged with felony assault and assaulting a police officer after becoming upset when he was told to end his performance in Detroit. Authorities said microphones and speakers were thrown from the stage. Songz pleaded guilty in August 2017 to two counts of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 18 months of probation.

How Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC Helps Graduates Live Life Free From Student Loans

Every student or working professional in the United States has had their share of student loans piled up over the years in pursuit of quality education. Statistics reveal that over 42 million individuals in the US owe over $1.59 trillion in student loan debt. And while the government may have promised to take some of the load off their shoulders, this does not include private student loans. Hence, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC has committed to helping students deal with their student loans in a way that will not compromise their chances of a worthwhile and happy lifestyle.

Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC was founded by two industry icons, Gregory Fitzgerald and William Campbell. The two partners aim to empower clients by preventing them from getting overwhelmed with the responsibilities that come with debt and equip them with the necessary tools to overcome every financial crisis.

Recently, founding partner Gregory Fitzgerald released a statement on the firm’s stance on an article published by a large student loan lender. SoFi stated unequivocally that there is no statute of limitations on student loan debt. “Wrong” says Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald explained that stating there is no statute of limitations on private student loans is deceptive and counter productive to educating the public about debt. “Do not be deceived by a lender who makes huge profits (and puts their name on multi-million dollar stadiums) by refinancing your student loans and then asks you to believe you do not have one of the most fundamental, long-standing, and indisputable legal rights available to debtors,” explained Fitzgerald. “Debtors who are being crushed by overwhelming student loan debts, that, thanks to financial industry legislative power, can no longer be discharged in bankruptcy as a matter of right. Debtors who have little to no access to competent and affordable legal counsel. Debtors who have precious too few rights as it is.”

Always siding with consumers, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC ensures that each of the debtors seeking their help properly knows what their rights are and empowers them with the knowledge that they have a team of seasoned legal professionals behind their fight to become debt-free. It may be an arduous process, but the firm ensures that fighting with the rights they deserve will make the journey more worthwhile. While other firms may mislead clients with misinformation, Fitzgerald and Campbell, APLC empowers them with the truth.

Besides student loan debt, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC caters to various areas of practices, including attorney fee debt, auto-related debt, bankruptcy, collection harassment, collection lawsuits, credit card debt, debt settlement, fraud or civil defense, judgments, medical debt, insurance company claims and lawsuits, and cash advance debt.

With all the debt cases piling up in the United States today, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC stressed that this is a crucial time for lawyers to stay on top of their game to ensure that clients get nothing but the best services to get their lives back on track. The firm puts great emphasis on the value of helping students overcome their debts using the right strategies.

Justin Bieber Faces Backlash Over new Hairstyle

Source: Instagram

Multi-award-winning artist Justin Bieber is once again making the headlines, but this time, the “Peaches” singer is in the news for a repeated offense—wearing dreadlocks.

Earlier in the week, the pop star shared photos of himself on Instagram with a new hairstyle of short dreadlocks. The hairstyle, which is traditionally attributed to the culture and identities of Black people, quickly went viral, sparking public outrage as Justin was accused of cultural appropriation and racial insensitivity.

Explaining the rationale behind the public outrage, Irene Shelley, editor of Black Beauty and Hair magazine, told the Guardian that Justin Bieber is disrespectful of the iconic style. She elaborated that many black people still face discrimination and stigma for wearing their hair the same way. For Justin, a privileged white male, to turn around and wear the historically significant hairstyle while ignoring the people’s struggles behind it is mockery of the Black race.

As with all arguments, two distinct camps emerged. While some black women confronted the “Intentions” singer and accused him of being disrespectful to the Black race by sporting a hairstyle they have been marginalized for wearing while urging him to change it and apologize, others camped in Justin’s defense, saying he can choose to wear his hair the way he wants.

In 2016, the Canadian-born singer faced similar backlash for sporting dreadlocks at the 2016 iHeart Radio Music Awards. He was accused of treating Black identity as a fashion statement and for cultural appropriation. Although the singer did not apologize at the time, he promptly changed his hairstyle. He again faced criticism for wearing cornrows during a vacation to the Caribbeans. Anticipating the backlash, Justin quickly argued that Hailey Baldwin, his wife, made him get the hairstyle.

In a seemingly repentant mood, Justin Bieber publicly acknowledged how much of his success as an artist has benefited from Black culture during the “Black Lives Matter” movement march for George Floyd in  June 2020. At the time, he promised to use his platform to promote discussions about racial injustice and oppression and play his part in the much-needed societal reform.

In a bid to keep his promise, the singer inserted speeches from Dr. Martin Luther King into his recent album “Justice.” The action was heavily criticized as many people felt that the album was nothing about “justice or racial oppression” and was more about how much he loves his wife, Hailey Baldwin. The criticism continued despite the support he got from Dr. King’s daughter, Bernice King. As per Billboard, the 27-year-old singer later addressed the controversy in a Clubhouse chat and admitted that he was uneducated and insensitive and did not know better.

Following the new photos of Justin Bieber wearing dreadlocks, many fans and social media users admonished him and questioned how he internalized previous criticism. Many social media users asked how he could preach against racial injustice and still partake in cultural appropriation while demanding that he practice his teachings.
